GYLI students have created many successful projects based on their LLPs. Below are two written examples of LLPs, as well as photos of the resultant projects.
What is the vision of the LLP?
The vision of our LLP is to bring diversity to the socially and economically challenged environment that we live in.
What goals does the group have for the LLP?
- We plan to have a Multi-Cultural Day/club
- School partnership with a diverse school
- Multi-Cultural based service learning activities
What are the steps that are necessary to accomplish the goals of the LLP?
- Present LLP to principle
- Partner with school, John F. Kennedy
- Develop committee to assist with Multi-Cultural Day
- Plan the anticipated date and activities for Multi-Cultural Day
What resources are available for the group to use?
- Various high school programs
- Service learning coaches
- Student coaches from the board
- Annual fund raisers
What personal goals do you have, and what can you personally do to help accomplish the goals of the LLP?
Some personal goals I have are to bring the school and community together in not just a physical way but a mental way and break the color barrier between people. Moreover, to help accomplish these goals I can lead by example and show people the benefits of African-Americans, Caucasians and other ethnic groups and religions working together.
